Description

Updates FE joint elements for use with the OptiStruct FE solution sequence.

Inputs

mark_id
The ID of the mark containing the joint entities to update. Valid values are 1 and 2.
type
The type of FE joint element. Valid values are:
42 - Ball. system1 and system2 must be specified as 0.
43 - Revolute. system1 is mandatory, but system2 may be specified as 0.
44 - Universal. system1 and system2 must be specified.
node1
The ID of the first FE joint node.
node2
The ID of the second FE joint node.
system1
The ID of the first FE joint system.
system2
The ID of the second FE joint system.
type_flag
Set to 1 to update type, 0 otherwise.
node_flag
Set to 1 to update node1 and node2, 0 otherwise.
system1_flag
Set to 1 to update system1, 0 otherwise.
system2_flag
Set to 1 to update system2, 0 otherwise.

Example

To update revolute type FE joint elements 9 and 10 to be joints of type ball:

*createmark elements 1 9 10
*alternatefejointupdate 1 42 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0

Errors

Incorrect usage results in a Tcl error. To detect errors, you can use the catch command:
if { [ catch {command_name...} ] } {
   # Handle error
}
