NVH Director 2019 Release Notes

New Features

Automated creation and review of symmetric entities
Symmetry creation works for modules, representations, connections, and dynamic LCS. Editable predefined naming rules are available for naming the newly created symmetric entities. Symmetric entities are always in sync and there are options to break and/or deactivate the existing / created symmetry definitions. For FE representations, it is possible to resolve representation file path conflicts.
Tuning Sets
Tuning sets can now be added to the assembly for quick modification studies. Different parts like bush, mass damper, tuned mass damper, beam part, and rigid part can be created and used as tuning sets. These tuning sets can be created using nodes and tagpoints. The Analysis Manager has been enhanced to activate / deactivate necessary tuning sets from the tuning set list for an analysis.
Advanced connections
Addition of advanced connections include:
  • DMIG – direct input matrix
  • Hydro – hydrostatic mount
  • EVMount – electric motor mount with mass at the centre of elastic part
  • MPC – multi-point constraint
  • Ujoint – Ujoint with plunging
Part Library connections
Create and assign connection parts to connections. New connection parts can be created by copying the existing connection parts. Connection parts from the available parts list is assigned to a connection in the Property View tab of the Connection browser. There is also an option to import and export property CSV files from the edit connection tools in the Connection browser.
DOE and Optimization (RBDO) support for Multiple Sample Analysis results
A new feature has been added to post-process Multiple Sample Analysis results for identification and robust optimization of sensitive parameters. This enables you to automatically setup and solve a DOE and RBDO in Hyperstudy, resulting in the identification of sensitive variables using a scanning DOE and further optimization using the RBDO approach.
Post-processing Electric Motor results
The order cut analysis utility plots a waterfall diagram of surface vibrations (ERP) of an electric motor generated using electro-magnetic forces acting on stator of electric motor. This allows efficient handling of a large amount of data in terms of motor rpm (which can go upto 20000 rpm) and order content (which can go upto 128 orders). You can also visualize ERP contour for concerned frequency corresponding to particular rpm / order combination.

Enhancements

Multiple sample analysis
MSA request from existing run matrix file.
DSA request for nominal run in MSA set-up.
Force output support for MSA.
Set the optimized variables from RBDO in new nominal run.
Saving of Loads MSA set-up for ease of reuse and analysis.
Prepare modules
The workflow to manually prepare modules has been enhanced to make it consistent with batch prepare. Options are now available to create 2D plotlels and store plotles in a separate representation file. A new status bar is available to show the actions during the module prepare process. You can also view a summary dialog before you exit the manual prepare mode to review changes in the representation file regarding preparation details, such as definition, number, and range of FE entities with an option to review the changes in the solver deck and also in the graphics area.
Panel Set Manager
You can now create new panels and / or use existing sets in the representation file to create new panels via the Panel Set Manager. You can also review panels in the graphics area, and use the panels in the panel participation analysis and ERP analysis.
Connection Create / Edit
The Edit Connection tool now displays all connection information on a single page and supports a new connection part library to enable a quick and easy way to compare different connection definitions and also assign parts.
Network view
The Network view can be used to display modules of connections. New color coding is also added for connections on the boundary of selected control volumes to help you easily identify connecting nodes to be used in the transfer path analysis and subsystem analysis.
Catalogue for Standard Loadcases
The catalogue for standard loadcases (road inputs and powertrain loads) has been enhanced in the Analysis Manager to enable you to specify a catalogue in the NVH Preferences. This introduces proper control of a catalogue for standard loadcases in terms of create, edit and use.
Scaling support for PBUSHT
A scale factor can be specified in the definition of PBUSHT, which enables you to introduce randomization in connections having PBUSHT property by randomizing the associated scale factor.
Loads MSA
Loads MSA processing on driveline imbalance and wheel imbalance has been enhanced when plotting NVH response with respect to vehicle speed, plot histograms, and contributions from different imbalance planes.
Publish
Reports from the Transfer Path Analysis tool can be automatically published which enables you define and use custom layouts for publishing.
Latest JAVA version is needed for publishing. It can be installed from: https://www.java.com/en/download/win10.jsp

Resolved Issues

  • Issues with the Composite Response tool in the Prepare Module tab.
  • Issues with FE ID conflicts due to ID management rules in HyperMesh and NVH director.
  • Issues with renumbering loadcase IDs when exporting a solver deck from the Analysis Manager using the solver deck option.
  • Issues with handling SPCs and MPCs that come from a solver deck and States definition in NVHD.
