Altair Inspire Extrude Metal 2019.1 Release Notes

Altair Inspire Extrude 2019.1 includes the following new features and enhancements.

New Features: General

Model Orientation
After the user orients the model, it will be automatically re-positioned to isometric view.
Post-Processing Section Averages
Post-processing is enhanced to show the average value of the plotted variable on each section. This will help the user to analyze the design rigorously by studying the section averages of flow and temperature in different regions.

New Features: Metal Extrusion

Automatic Report Generation
Altair Inspire Extrude will automatically create a report for profile nosecone analysis. The report generator has an expert system that captures the knowledge we gained over several years helping customers analyze and optimize extrusion dies. The most important feature here is the flow network diagram that is used to explain material flow and heat transfer through different sections. This report is in PDF format. This explains different aspects of the die, how the material flows during extrusion and its influence on extrusion load, temperature changes, flow imbalance, and productivity. This information will help both die designers and CAE analysts.
Flow Stress Plot
Flow stress plots are added to the material database for workpiece materials.

New Features: Quenching

Warpage Analysis
The interface is enhanced to automatically compute warpage analysis. This predicts the part warpage and residual stresses due to non-uniform cooling.

New Features: Tool Deflection Analysis

Load Faces Visualization
Altair Inspire Extrude automatically identifies the surface of the tool geometry that comes in contact with the workpiece. This is done internally. In this release, the user can inspect these surfaces and modify them.

Enhancements

Updated Mouse Controls
You can now modify the mouse controls in the Preferences. The default mouse control for turntable rotation is now Shift + middle mouse drag.
