Highlights
Altair provides a unique and innovative license mechanism that allows you to maximize
productivity and functionality when using the Altair HyperWorks suite of programs.
Changes in HyperWorks 2019 licensing include:
- Altair License Manager 14.0.2
- New product license features
- Product unit draw changes
- Resolved issues
New Features
- Altair License Manager
- The Altair License Manager has been updated to 14.0.2, providing better reliability and bugs fixes.
- Product license features
- The following new products are now available under HyperWorks units (HWUs):
- Altair Inspire platform
- The Inspire platform is an intuitive and powerful software
technology platform that enables simulation-driven design
throughout the entire product development. The following
Inspire platform products are included in the HyperWorks
2019 release:
- Altair Inspire
- Generative Design and rapid simulation solution for designers. Altair Inspire draws 15 HWUs.
- Altair Inspire Cast
- Fast casting process simulation. Inspire GUI and Solver draw 30 HWUs.
- Altair Inspire Form
- Sheet metal forming feasibility and tryout. Inspire Form One Step Solver draws 15 HWUs and Incremental Solver draws 30 HWU to run.
- Altair Inspire Extrude
- Metal and Polymer extrusion process simulations. Both processes draw 30 HWUs.
- Altair HyperLife
- An easy-to-learn fatigue analysis software developed on the modern, solver-neutral HyperWorks X framework. HyperLife draws 30 HWUs to run.
- Altair SimLab
- Altair builds upon its core SimLab technology and leadership in automated solid modeling, boasting an entirely new user experience. The new multiphysics solution features the addition of deeply embedded solvers, including statics, dynamics, heat transfer, fluid flow and electromagnetics analysis. SimLab pre and post processors draw 21 HWUs and 30 HWUs for embedded solvers.
- Altair SimSolid
- A structural analysis application that enables the analysis of fully-featured CAD assemblies without meshing. SimSolid requires 30 HWUs to run.
- Altair nanoFluidX
- A particle-based (SPH) fluid dynamics code for simulation of single and multiphase flows in complex geometries with complex motion.
- Altair ultraFluidX
- Simulation software based on Lattice-Boltzmann method for ultra-fast prediction of the aerodynamic properties of passenger and heavy-duty vehicles, as well as for the evaluation of building and environmental aerodynamics.
Enhancements
- Product unit draw changes
- The following products have modified the number of units required to run
the applications:
- Altair Compose
- Reduced to 5 HWUs, previously 10 HWUs.
- Altair Embed
- Reduced to 20 HWUs, previously 25 HWUs.
- Altair Embed Digital Power Design
- Draws 30 HWUs.
- HyperWorks Solver Per-Job licensing
- Unit draw is based on the number of the CPU cores (and GPU), the number of jobs running concurrently, and whether it is a co-simulation run.
- HyperWorks Solver Unlimited Solver Node (Per-Node) licensing
- Unit draw is per compute node.
- HyperWorks Solvers Unit decay
- This functionality is enabled in the Flux solver, Feko solver, WinProp solver, and ElectroFlo solver, in addition to previous solvers.
Resolved Issues
- NVH profile now checks the default license location.
- MotionView run panel and MotionView Run Manager license error has been fixed.
