Altair Inspire Extrude Polymer 2019.1 Release Notes
Altair Inspire Extrude 2019.1 includes the following new features and enhancements.
New Features: General
- Model Orientation
- After the user orients the model, it will be automatically re-positioned to isometric view.
- Post-Processing Section Averages
- Post-processing is enhanced to show the average value of the plotted variable on each section. This will help the user to analyze the design rigorously by studying the section averages of flow and temperature in different regions.
New Features: Polymer Extrusion
- Improvements to Part Selection and Organization
- In this release, part selection and organization is extended to tool and part insert. This allows the user to visualize the model better and, in addition, it enables the interface to exclude the tool while exporting the data for extrusion analysis.
- Viscosity Plots for Polymer Materials
- Viscosity plots are added to the polymer material database.
- Improvements to Residence Time Result
- The solver computes residence time from the flow field. It is enhanced to account for dead zones and dead elements (elements with all nodes on wall) and helps the user to visualize this result correctly.
- Summary of Process Conditions
- In a co-extruded model, it is critical to set the process conditions such that the extruded layers come at more or less the same rate (or according to the design). In order to verify this, we need to compute the ratio of inlet area and exit area of each layer to compute the extrusion ratio for computing average exit velocities. The summary table will help the user by showing this data for each layer and allowing them to adjust the inlet conditions there to balance the flow.
- Land Organization
- Land cut is enhanced to accept the disconnected lines to divide the land appropriately. Automatic layer reorganization after land cut is also improved to consider all partitioned solids accurately.
New Features: Tool Deflection Analysis
- Load Faces Visualization
- Altair Inspire Extrude automatically identifies the surface of the tool geometry that comes in contact with the polymer. This is done internally. In this release, user can inspect these surfaces and modify them.
Enhancements
- Updated Mouse Controls
- You can now modify the mouse controls in the Preferences. The default mouse control for turntable rotation is now Shift + middle mouse drag.
