Learn the basics and discover the workspace.

  Explore the HyperWorks X user interface.
- View Controls
  View controls enable you to control the view and display of your model in the modeling window.
  - Show, Hide, Isolate Entities
    Turn the display of entities on and off in the modeling window.
  - Store and Recall Custom Views
    Save the current view of your model for future reference, and recall saved views.
  - Rotate, Pan, Zoom, Fit, Center
    Adjust your view of the model in the modeling window.
  - Geometry Display Settings
    Change the visual display of geometry in the modeling window by configuring the geometry display settings.
  - Mesh Display Settings
    Change the display of mesh in the modeling window by configuring the mesh display settings.
  - Model Color Settings
    Change how geometry and mesh entities are visualized in the modeling window by selecting a color mode.
  - Create and View Section Cuts
    Use the Section Cuts tool to create and view 2D section planes of your model.
- Find and Search
  Quickly search for entities in your model, tools, panels, and help topics, as well as create entities and solver cards.
- Selection
  Select and deselect entities to modify with other HyperWorks X tools. Selected entities are outlined to indicate their selection state.
- Translate and Rotate Entities

- Measure Length and Angles
  Measure length and angles.
- Define Orientation
  Several tools require you to define a plane or a vector direction to perform a certain function, such as dragging geometry along a vector, spinning it about an axis, or splitting it with a plane. Using the Vector tool, both planes and vectors can be defined as needed.
