Find and Search

The search bar can be used to find and filter entities in the Model Browser.

1. In the search bar, enter a search string.
   The search syntax follows this basic form: <attribute>:<search pattern>. Use AND, OR, <, >, operators to refine your search.

   2	All entities that contain the number 2 in their ID.
   "2"	All entities with the ID 2.
   shell	All entities that contain shell in their name. All entities with the name shell.
   "shell"	All entities with the name shell.
   name: shell AND id: 2	All entities that contain shell in their name and 2 in their ID.
   id: > 10 AND id: < 20 AND name: cent	All entities that contain cent in their name and have an ID greater than 10 and less than 20.
   1-4	All entities with the IDs 1, 2, 3, and 4.
   type: comp AND id: 1-4	All components with the IDs 1, 2, 3, and 4.

2. Clear the search string to return to the default browser view.

Quickly find and access tools, panels, and help topics, as well as create entities and solver cards.

1. Enable the Search tool by pressing Ctrl + F, or click in the top, right corner of the modeling window.
2. In the search bar, enter a string.

   Predicted results appear in a list.
3. Select a search result from the list, or press Enter to select the highlighted search result.
   Selecting a tool or panel to opens the respective tool.

   Selecting a solver card creates a new card. Solver cards are grouped under the Keywords heading.

   Tip: When creating solver cards with the Search tool, set the Model Browser as the current tab so that you can easily recognize where newly created cards are being stored upon creation.

   Selecting an entity adds the entity to the model and opens the corresponding Entity Editor. Entities are grouped under the Create heading.

   Selecting a help topic opens the online help.
