Options

Display options such as timestep, frame name, filename, foreground color, and background color.

Timestep
The timestep is displayed in the upper left corner of the video window. Select Timestep to display the timestep label on or off. Additional text such as time units can be added to the Timestep label from the Time Scales dialog box on the Animation Controls panel. When animating the video image, the Timestep label is updated.
Frame number
The current frame number can be displayed in the upper left corner of the video window. Select Frame Number to display the frame number on or off. When animating the video image, the Frame Number label is updated.
Display file name
The current filename can be displayed in the upper left corner of the video window. Select Display Filename to display the filename on or off.
Location
From the drop-down menu, select the location where you want to display the timestep, frame number, and file name. Options include Upper left, Upper right, Lower left, and Lower right.
Font
Click the Font icon, , to change the font style, size, and color.
Background Color
By default, the video window background is black. This window can be set to any color. On printouts, the background is always white.
Foreground Color
You can change the color of the timestep, frame number, and display filename labels using the foreground color palette.
Blank out tolerance
If Blank out tolerance is selected, the video frame is only displayed if the difference between the time of the current frame and the time of the page is less than the tolerance.
If Blank out tolerance is not selected, the current video frame is always displayed.
Video Enhancements
The following settings can be edited to enhance your video file. Enter a value directly into the data field or use the slider bar to change the value.
Note: Significant processing power is required to perform video enhancement operations such as brightness, contrast, gamma correction, and edge enhancement. Depending on the resolution of your video, you may notice a performance decrease when these enhancements are active. Of the video enhancement operations, Edge Enhancement is the most CPU-intensive and Gamma correction is the least CPU-intensive.
Brightness
Change the brightness of your media file.
Contrast
Adjust the contrast to see the difference between the lightest and darkest parts of the media file.
Gamma
Gamma refers to the degree of contrast in your media file. Enter a value or drag the slider to set the brightness of mid-tones without affecting highlights and shadows.
Edge Enhancements
When selected, this option finds and displays the edges in the media file.

Change the Background Color

From the MediaView Options panel, select a color from the Background palette.
The background color of the window displays the selected color.

Change the Foreground Color

  1. From the MediaView Options panel, select Timestep, Frame Number, or Display filename to display one or all of the labels.
  2. Select a color from the foreground palette.
    The color of the label(s) displays the selected color.

Change the Tolerance Value

  1. From the MediaView Options panel, select Blank out Tolerance.
  2. Enter a new value in the field.
    The video frame is only displayed if the difference between the time of the current frame and the time of the page is less than the tolerance.

    The program overrides any invalid entries and resets the value to the default.
