Altair MediaView 2019 Release Notes

New Features

Media Browser
Manage media windows, movies, markers, measures, notes and headers/footers in the Media Browser. This new browser consists of the Entity Editor and advanced filtering options, which allow you to manage large sessions more efficiently by editing multiple entities simultaneously.
Session Browser with Entity Editor
The new Session Browser has an Entity Editor section to modify page and window properties. This will allow you to manage large sessions more efficiently by editing multiple entities simultaneously.
Filter entities in the Session Browser
You can now use Boolean operations and wildcards in the find/filter fields, and you can quickly create search keywords and filter values using the 'Add as Filter' context menu option in the Entity Editor.
Filtering on properties from different entity types is now possible, for example filtering for all HyperView clients on pages with a specific string in the page title.

Enhancements

Improved error messages for overwriting files during translation
When using the external video decoder, a detailed message will display if the translation fails.
UHD support
The MediaView user interface now supports UHD displays.
External video decoder
The new external video decoder is 64-bit and does not require any special configuration on Linux.

Resolved Issues

  • Session Browser fully expands when a new page is added, or when moving between Session and Plot browsers.
  • Flipping pages and changing clients via Tcl scripts triggers crashes.
  • The Add button in the Notes panel is disabled after creating a new session and loading a new video.
  • Marker Tracing traceline data is not retained correctly in some sessions after opening and re-saving the session.
  • The limited robustness of the AMFBuilder 32 causes the application to crash.
  • Precision value in the Marker panel cannot be changed.
  • Long notes disappear when the attachment type is changed between Window and View.
  • A registration of video component warning message displays for every newly installed build.
  • Capturing or publishing as AVI fails when a header or footer is added to the MediaView window.
