Comments

  1. The spring damper force is along the line segment connecting the grids G1 and G2.
  2. The positive preload force is a stretching force.
  3. If the unstretched length/angle of spring damper field (L) is blank:
    1. For a translational spring, OptiStruct calculates the length between the two grid points (G1, G2) of the spring damper for the value of L.
    2. For a rotational spring, L is set to 0.0.
  4. This card is represented as a spring element in HyperMesh.
