CD-Tire Modeling

CD-Tire (Comfort and Durability Tire model) is a mathematical model of a tire that is built using a combination of physical tire information and measured test data of the tire.

The tire models are integrated into MotionSolve, however the math of the tire is solved in a separate solver.
  • CD-Tire is integrated into MotionSolve, therefore a separate .dll or a separately compiled subroutine is not required to run CD-Tire.
  • CD-Tire example tires and roads are provided in the software installation.
  • This is a companion document to the CD-Tire Reference Manual published by Fraunhofer LBF. CD-Tire documents are available with the purchase of the CD-Tire module.
The tire models are created by measuring a tire and going through a tire parameter identification process to create the model. The tire measurement process requires a laboratory equipped with an MTS Flat-Trac (copyright) machine, or a similar device which is capable of measuring small lateral forces while maintaining a large vertical force. The tire parameter identification process cannot be performed in Hyperworks, or in the available CD-Tire software.
